As the sky transformed into a breathtaking canvas of deep purples and rich oranges, Becca and Mary found themselves strolling along the water's edge, their steps falling into a natural rhythm. The sound of the waves gently lapping against the shore created a soothing melody, harmonizing with the comfortable silence that had settled between them.

Becca's hand brushed against Mary's, a fleeting touch that sent a jolt of electricity through her body. She glanced down at their hands, so close yet not quite touching, and felt a sudden yearning to intertwine her fingers with Mary's. The urge grew stronger with each step, a magnetic pull that seemed to emanate from the very depths of her soul.

Lost in her thoughts, Becca nearly stumbled over a piece of driftwood, but Mary's quick reflexes saved her from falling. Mary's hand gripped Becca's arm, steadying her, and the contact lingered for a moment longer than necessary. Becca's breath hitched in her throat, her skin tingling where Mary's touch had been.

"Careful there," Mary said softly, her voice barely audible above the crashing waves. "I wouldn't want you to get hurt."

Becca met Mary's gaze, her heart skipping a beat at the intensity she found in those mesmerizing blue eyes. "I know you'll always be there to catch me," she replied, her words carrying a weight that extended far beyond the present moment.

As they continued their walk, their hands found each other's once more, this time with purpose. Fingers intertwined, palms pressed together, the connection between them grew stronger with each passing second. The warmth of Mary's hand in hers felt like coming home, a sense of belonging that Becca had never experienced before.

The sky darkened, the first stars beginning to twinkle above them. Becca and Mary stopped, turning to face each other, their hands still clasped together. In the fading light, Mary's features seemed softer, more vulnerable, and Becca felt an overwhelming urge to protect her, to cherish every part of her being.

"Mary," Becca whispered, her voice trembling with emotion. "I... I've never felt this way before. Being with you, it's like everything just falls into place. Like I've found a missing piece of myself that I never even knew I was searching for."

Mary's eyes glistened with unshed tears, her free hand reaching up to gently caress Becca's cheek. "I feel it too, Becca. This connection between us, it's unlike anything I've ever experienced. It's both terrifying and exhilarating, but I know one thing for certain – I don't want to let it go."

Becca leaned into Mary's touch, her eyes fluttering closed for a brief moment. When she opened them again, she found Mary's face mere inches from her own, their breaths mingling in the rapidly cooling air. Time seemed to stand still, the world around them fading away until all that remained was the two of them, lost in the depths of each other's eyes.

"Then don't let go," Becca murmured, her lips grazing Mary's as she spoke. "Let's embrace this, embrace us, and see where this beautiful journey takes us."

With those words, Becca closed the remaining distance between them, capturing Mary's lips in a tender, emotion-filled kiss. The waves crashed against the shore, the stars shone brightly above, and in that perfect moment, Becca and Mary surrendered to the love that had been blossoming between them, ready to face whatever the future held, together.

* * * As they reluctantly parted from the kiss, Becca and Mary remained close, their foreheads touching and their eyes locked in an intimate gaze. The world around them seemed to melt away, leaving only the two of them in their own private universe. Becca's hand found Mary's, their fingers intertwining as if they were always meant to be connected.

"I don't want this night to end," Mary whispered, her voice barely audible above the gentle rustling of the leaves in the nearby trees. "Being with you, like this, feels so right."

Becca smiled softly, her thumb gently caressing the back of Mary's hand. "It doesn't have to end, not really. We have tomorrow, and the day after that, and all the days to come. This is just the beginning of our story, Mary."

Mary's heart swelled with affection, the promise of a future with Becca filling her with a warmth she had never known before. "I like the sound of that," she murmured, her eyes sparkling with a mix of joy and anticipation.

As they stood there, wrapped in each other's arms, Becca and Mary knew that they had found something rare and precious. The connection they shared, the love that had blossomed between them, was a once-in-a-lifetime kind of love. And they were determined to cherish every moment, to nurture and protect this beautiful bond they had discovered.

With a final, lingering kiss, Becca and Mary slowly untangled themselves from each other's embrace. They walked hand in hand, their steps in perfect sync, as they made their way back to the café where it all began. The night air was cool against their skin, but the warmth of their love kept them comfortable and content.

* * *
As they reached the entrance of the café, Becca turned to face Mary, her eyes shining with a mix of adoration and gratitude. "Until tomorrow, my love," she whispered, bringing Mary's hand to her lips and placing a gentle kiss upon her knuckles.

Mary's heart fluttered at the gesture, a soft blush coloring her cheeks. "Until tomorrow, Becca. Sweet dreams."

With one last shared smile, Becca and Mary parted ways, each carrying the memory of their perfect day and the promise of a future filled with love and happiness. As they walked in opposite directions, their hearts remained connected, beating in perfect harmony, a testament to the unbreakable bond they had forged.

The stars above seemed to shine a little brighter, as if celebrating the love that had blossomed beneath their watchful gaze. Becca and Mary, two souls who had found each other against all odds, now embarked on a journey of love and self-discovery, ready to face whatever challenges life might throw their way, secure in the knowledge that they would always have each other.

Finding Inspiration in Research: A Note from Sapphic Shelley

Dear Readers,

As an author, I often find myself immersed in the creative process, diving headfirst into writing, editing, and publishing my books. However, I've recently discovered that stepping away from the keyboard can sometimes lead to the most significant breakthroughs.

Over the past few days, I took a break from my usual writing routine to research the latest trends in sapphic romance. I explored the dozens of books published in the past year that you, my wonderful readers, have been enjoying. It was enlightening to see what caught your attention and sparked your enthusiasm.

I meticulously noted which books received the best reviews and which ones didn’t resonate as much. I looked at the length of these preferred stories, the general themes, and the characters that you loved. Were the romances fade-to-black or open-door? Understanding these elements has provided me with invaluable guidelines for my own writing. Going on reviews, most readers definitely preferred open door intimate scenes within the sapphic romance stories.

This research was so insightful that I decided to delay the release of my next book by three days. I wanted to ensure that I could incorporate more of the scenes and elements you enjoy into my upcoming work. My goal is to create a reading experience that resonates with you and keeps you coming back for more!

Moving forward, I’m committed to releasing two insta-love lesbian romance books each month, aiming for the 1st and the 15th as my release days. I’m also excited to announce that I plan to release a special Christmas story under my Sapphic Shelley name this year.

Thank you for your continued support and for sharing your thoughts through reviews and feedback. Your insights inspire me to grow and improve with every book I write.

Happy reading!

With love,
Sapphic Shelley

Chasing My Dreams by Sapphic Shelley

Sam's warm smile drew Mary in as she settled into the seat beside her. "Mary, it's been too long. Tell me, how have you been? I want to hear all about your adventures since high school."

Mary's heart swelled at the genuine interest in Sam's voice. She took a deep breath, the words tumbling out. "It's been a whirlwind, honestly. Chasing my dreams, writing, trying to find my place in the world. But through it all, I never stopped thinking about Crescent Bay, about the people I left behind."

Sam reached out, her hand resting gently on Mary's arm. "We never stopped thinking about you either. You were always a part of us, even when you were far away."

As Mary shared stories of her triumphs and struggles, Sam listened intently, her eyes filled with understanding. The years melted away, and Mary felt the walls she had built around her heart begin to crumble.

Across the table, Lily's vibrant laughter caught Mary's attention. She turned to find the artist's eyes sparkling with mischief. "Mary, I've been dying to ask you something. What inspires your writing? Where do you find the magic that brings your stories to life?"

Mary's lips curved into a smile, the question igniting a passion within her. "It's the world around us, Lily. The beauty in the ordinary, the emotions that we all experience but sometimes struggle to express. Writing is my way of making sense of it all, of capturing those fleeting moments and preserving them on the page."

Lily leaned forward, her elbows resting on the table. "I feel the same way about art. It's like we're kindred spirits, you and I, always seeking to create something meaningful out of the chaos of life."

As the two delved deeper into their shared love of the creative process, Mary felt a connection blossoming, an understanding that transcended words. Lily's enthusiasm was infectious, and Mary found herself swept up in the excitement of possibilities.

Yet, even as she lost herself in the conversation, Mary couldn't shake the feeling of Becca's presence beside her, a constant source of comfort and strength. She glanced over, catching Becca's eyes, and the love she saw there took her breath away.

In that moment, surrounded by the warmth of old friends and the promise of new beginnings, Mary knew that she had finally found her way home.

* * *

Ethan leaned back in his chair, his eyes glinting with mischief as he observed the growing camaraderie between Becca and Mary. The allure of their reunion, the palpable connection that seemed to dance between them, was too tempting to resist. With a charming smile playing on his lips, he interjected, "Well, well, well. Look at you two, thick as thieves. It's like no time has passed at all."

Becca turned to face him, a playful glint in her eyes. "Jealous, Ethan? Feeling left out?" She teased, her voice laced with a hint of challenge.

Ethan chuckled, holding up his hands in mock surrender. "Me? Never. I'm just admiring the view." His gaze lingered on Mary for a moment, appreciating the way the soft café lighting accentuated her features. "I must say, Mary, you've certainly grown up since high school. In all the right ways."
Mary felt a blush creep up her neck, unsure how to respond to Ethan's bold flirtation. She glanced at Becca, seeking reassurance, and found a flicker of annoyance in her eyes. The tension between them was palpable, a history left unspoken.

Ollie, ever the peacemaker, sensed the shifting dynamics and stepped in. "Now, now, Ethan. Let's not make our guest uncomfortable." He placed a gentle hand on Mary's shoulder, offering a comforting squeeze. "Mary, we're all so happy to have you back. It's like a missing piece of the puzzle has finally fallen into place."

Mary smiled gratefully at Ollie, his words wrapping around her like a warm embrace. She couldn't help but feel a swell of affection for this kind-hearted man who had always been there for her, even in her darkest moments.

As the conversation flowed, Mary found herself caught between the pull of the past and the promise of the future. Ethan's presence, with his undeniable charm and the weight of their shared history, stirred up feelings she thought she had long buried. Yet, every time she looked at Becca, she felt a sense of belonging, a connection that ran deeper than mere nostalgia.

The café buzzed with energy, the clinking of glasses and the laughter of patrons creating a soothing backdrop. Mary inhaled deeply, the rich aroma of coffee and the faint scent of Becca's perfume mingling in the air. She wanted to bottle this moment, to capture the feeling of being surrounded by people who cared for her, who saw her for who she truly was.

As the evening wore on, Mary found herself drawn into the easy banter and shared memories. Ethan's initial reservations seemed to melt away, replaced by a genuine curiosity and a desire to reconnect. Ollie's gentle presence acted as a balm, soothing any lingering tensions and fostering a sense of unity among the group.

And through it all, Becca remained by her side, a constant source of comfort and strength. Their hands brushed beneath the table, fingers intertwining in a silent promise. Mary's heart swelled with love and gratitude, knowing that no matter what challenges lay ahead, she had finally found her way back home.

* * *

The warm glow of the café lights cast a soft halo around Becca's face as she threw her head back in laughter, the sound melodic and infectious. Mary couldn't help but smile, her gaze lingering on the way Becca's eyes crinkled at the corners, the way her lips curved into a perfect crescent. In that moment, the years melted away, and Mary felt like she was seeing Becca for the first time all over again.

"Do you remember," Lily began, her voice tinged with nostalgia, "that time we snuck out to the beach at midnight, just to see the stars?"

Becca's eyes sparkled with mischief. "How could I forget? We nearly got caught by the police!"
The group erupted into laughter, the memories of their shared adventures weaving them together like a tapestry of friendship. Mary leaned back in her chair, letting the warmth of their camaraderie wash over her. She had spent so long running from her past, from the person she used to be, but now, surrounded by the people who knew her best, she realized that perhaps she had been running towards something all along.

As the conversation flowed, Mary found herself opening up, sharing pieces of her life that she had kept hidden for so long. She spoke of her struggles, her triumphs, and the lessons she had learned along the way. And with each word, she felt the weight of her secrets lifting, replaced by a sense of peace and belonging.

"I'm so proud of you, Mary," Sam said softly, reaching across the table to squeeze her hand. "You've been through so much, but you never gave up on your dreams."

Mary felt tears prickling at the corners of her eyes, overwhelmed by the love and support that surrounded her. She glanced at Becca, who was watching her with a tender expression, her green eyes shimmering with emotion.

"I couldn't have done it without you," Mary whispered, her words meant for Becca's ears alone. "You've always been my anchor, my guiding light."

Becca's fingers tightened around hers, a silent promise of forever. In that moment, Mary knew that no matter what the future held, she had found her home, her sanctuary, in the arms of the woman she loved.

As the night drew to a close, the group lingered, reluctant to say goodbye. They made plans for future gatherings, for new adventures and shared laughter. And as Mary walked out into the cool night air, her hand firmly clasped in Becca's, she felt a sense of peace settle over her, a certainty that she was exactly where she was meant to be.

* * *

The cool night air caressed Mary's skin as she stepped out of the café, hand in hand with Becca. The soft glow of the streetlights cast a warm, inviting ambiance, and the distant sound of laughter from a nearby bar added to the lively atmosphere. Mary inhaled deeply, savoring the scent of blooming jasmine that drifted on the gentle breeze.

Becca turned to face her, a mischievous glint in her eyes. "So, what do you say we take a little detour before heading home?" Her voice was low and alluring, sending a shiver down Mary's spine.
Mary raised an eyebrow, intrigued by the suggestion. "What did you have in mind?" she asked, her own voice taking on a playful tone.

Becca's lips curved into a seductive smile. "There's a secret spot I've been wanting to show you. It's not far from here, and I think you'll love it."

Without waiting for a response, Becca tugged gently on Mary's hand, leading her down a narrow side street. The cobblestone path beneath their feet was worn and uneven, adding to the sense of adventure. Mary's heart raced with anticipation, the thrill of the unknown mingling with the excitement of being alone with Becca.

As they walked, Mary's mind wandered to the events of the evening. The acceptance and support from Becca's friends had touched her deeply, filling a void she hadn't even realized existed. For the first time in years, she felt like she truly belonged, like she had found her place in the world.
Becca's voice pulled her from her thoughts. "We're almost there," she whispered, her breath warm against Mary's ear.

They rounded a corner, and Mary gasped in surprise. Before them lay a hidden garden, tucked away from the bustling streets. The air was heavy with the scent of roses and honeysuckle, and the soft trickle of a fountain could be heard in the distance.
"Becca, this is beautiful," Mary breathed, her eyes wide with wonder.
Becca smiled, pulling Mary closer. "Not as beautiful as you," she murmured, her gaze intense and filled with desire.

Mary's breath caught in her throat as Becca's lips brushed against hers, soft and inviting. She melted into the kiss, her hands finding their way into Becca's hair, pulling her closer. The world around them faded away, and all that mattered was the feeling of Becca's body pressed against hers, the taste of her lips, the heat of her touch.

When they finally pulled apart, both breathless and flushed, Mary rested her forehead against Becca's. "I love you," she whispered, the words falling from her lips like a sacred promise.
Becca's eyes shone with emotion, a single tear sliding down her cheek. "I love you too, Mary. More than I ever thought possible."

They stayed like that for a long moment, wrapped in each other's arms, lost in the magic of the night. And as the stars twinkled overhead, Mary knew that this was just the beginning of their story, a love that would stand the test of time and grow stronger with each passing day.

A Sweet and Cozy very short sapphic romance story for your enjoyment.

The bell above the café door chimed as Becca stepped inside, her eyes scanning the quaint interior. Mary sat at a corner table, her blonde hair catching the golden sunlight streaming through the window. Their eyes met, and a slow smile spread across Mary's face, lighting up her striking blue eyes. Becca's heart skipped a beat as she made her way over, drinking in the sight of her old friend.

"Mary Hughes, as I live and breathe," Becca said with a grin, pulling Mary into a warm hug. The scent of lavender and vanilla enveloped her, achingly familiar. "It's been far too long."

Mary laughed, the sound sending a shiver down Becca's spine. "Becca Thompson, still the charmer I see. Some things never change."
She gestured for Becca to sit, her fingertips grazing Becca's wrist and leaving a trail of goosebumps in their wake.

They settled into the plush armchairs, steaming cups of coffee before them. The rich aroma mingled with the sweet scent of freshly baked pastries, creating a cozy ambiance. Becca leaned back, her eyes never leaving Mary's face. She's even more beautiful than I remember, she thought, her heart fluttering in her chest.

"Do you remember that time we snuck out to the football field at midnight?" Becca asked, a mischievous glint in her eye. "We laid under the stars for hours, dreaming about the future."

Mary's lips quirked up in a smile. "How could I forget? We made so many plans that night, convinced we could conquer the world."

They laughed, the sound echoing through the café. Becca felt a warmth spreading through her chest, a sense of belonging she hadn't felt in years. She reached out, her fingers brushing against Mary's. "I've missed this. Missed you."

Mary's gaze softened, her hand squeezing Becca's gently. "Me too, Riles. More than you know."

They sipped their coffee, exchanging stories and memories as the sun danced across the tabletop. Becca found herself lost in Mary's words, in the melody of her voice and the depths of her eyes. What is this feeling? she wondered, her heart racing. Could it be...

As the last drops of coffee disappeared, Becca stood, a sudden idea sparking in her mind. "Let's go for a walk on the beach," she suggested, extending her hand. "Like old times."

Mary hesitated for a moment, her eyes searching Becca's face. Then, with a soft smile, she took Becca's hand and allowed herself to be pulled to her feet. "Lead the way."

They stepped out into the bright sunlight, the salty sea breeze whispering through their hair. The sound of crashing waves grew louder as they made their way towards the shore, their hands still intertwined. Becca felt a thrill run through her at the contact, a secret longing she had kept buried for years.

The sand was warm beneath their feet as they walked along the water's edge, the waves lapping at their toes. Becca glanced at Mary, admiring the way the sun cast a golden glow on her skin. She's ethereal, she thought, her breath catching in her throat.

As they walked, their shoulders brushed, the fabric of their sundresses fluttering in the breeze. The air between them was charged with an unspoken tension, a delicious anticipation that made Becca's skin tingle. She wondered if Mary felt it too, this magnetic pull that seemed to draw them closer with every step.

What secrets do you hold, Mary Hughes? Becca mused silently, her gaze lingering on the curve of Mary's lips. And will I be brave enough to uncover them?

The beach stretched out before them, a blank canvas waiting to be painted with the colors of their rekindled connection. Becca's heart raced with the possibilities, with the promise of something beautiful and terrifying all at once. She squeezed Mary's hand, a silent acknowledgment of the journey they were about to embark on together.

And so, with the sand beneath their feet and the salty breeze in their hair, Becca and Mary walked on, ready to explore the depths of their bond and the mysteries of their own hearts.

The hidden cove emerged like a secret haven, its towering cliffs embracing the secluded shore. Becca and Mary stood at the edge of the sandy expanse, their eyes wide with wonder. The turquoise water shimmered invitingly, its gentle waves beckoning them closer.

"It's breathtaking," Mary whispered, her voice barely audible above the rhythmic crash of the waves.
Becca nodded, her gaze fixed on the horizon. "I never knew this place existed. It's like we've stumbled upon a piece of paradise."

They ventured down to the beach, their feet sinking into the soft, sun-warmed sand. The salty breeze danced through their hair, carrying with it the scent of the sea and the promise of something extraordinary.

As they walked along the shoreline, Becca found herself drawn to Mary's presence, her heart fluttering with a mixture of excitement and nervousness. She glanced at her companion, admiring the way the light caught the golden strands of her hair and the gentle curve of her smile.

What is it about her that makes me feel so alive? Becca wondered silently, her thoughts swirling like the eddies in the shallow pools left behind by the receding tide.

"I've missed this," Mary said softly, her gaze fixed on the distant horizon. "The peace, the tranquility. It's like the world fades away, and all that's left is the sound of the waves and the warmth of the sun."

Becca nodded, understanding the sentiment all too well. "It's easy to get lost in the chaos of life, to forget what truly matters. But here, in this moment, everything seems so clear."

They continued their walk, their footprints leaving a trail in the damp sand. The cove seemed to wrap around them like a cocoon, shielding them from the outside world and its troubles.

As they rounded a bend, Becca spotted a weathered piece of driftwood, its gray surface smooth and inviting. She gestured towards it, a mischievous glint in her eye.
"Shall we sit for a while? I have a feeling this spot holds secrets waiting to be shared."

Mary's eyes sparkled with intrigue, and she nodded, following Becca's lead. They settled onto the driftwood, their thighs touching ever so slightly, sending a shiver down Becca's spine.
This is it, Becca thought, her heart pounding in her chest. The moment where everything could change.

She turned to face Mary, her green eyes locking with those mesmerizing blue ones. The air between them crackled with anticipation, the unspoken words hanging heavy in the salty breeze.

"Mary," Becca began, her voice barely above a whisper. "There's something I've been wanting to tell you..."

She paused, searching for the right words, her mind racing with a thousand possibilities. Mary watched her intently, her gaze unwavering, a flicker of hope dancing in her eyes.

Take the leap, Becca urged herself silently. Risk it all for the chance at something beautiful.

And so, with the sound of the waves crashing against the shore and the sun dipping towards the horizon, Becca took a deep breath and poured out her heart, ready to embrace whatever lay ahead.

* * *

Becca's heart raced as she gazed into Mary's eyes, the weight of her unspoken feelings threatening to overwhelm her. She reached out, her fingers trembling slightly, and took Mary's hand in her own.

"Mary, I..." Becca's voice wavered, thick with emotion. "I've been in love with you since high school. I know it's been years, and we've both gone our separate ways, but being back here with you, it's made me realize that my feelings never truly disappeared."

Mary's eyes widened, a mix of surprise and longing flickering across her face. She squeezed Becca's hand, her touch warm and reassuring.

"Becca, I..." Mary's voice caught in her throat. "I had no idea. All this time, I thought I was the only one harboring these feelings. I've always been drawn to you, your spirit, your kindness. But I was too afraid to say anything, too scared of losing our friendship."

Becca's heart soared, a wave of relief and joy washing over her. She leaned closer, her free hand reaching up to cup Mary's cheek, her thumb gently caressing the soft skin.

"You could never lose me," Becca whispered, her breath mingling with Mary's. "I've always been yours, even if I didn't fully realize it until now."

Mary's eyes fluttered closed, leaning into Becca's touch. The golden light of the setting sun bathed them in a warm glow, casting an ethereal aura around their intertwined figures.

"Kiss me," Mary breathed, her lips parting slightly in anticipation.

Becca closed the distance between them, her lips meeting Mary's in a tender, yet passionate kiss. Years of pent-up longing and unspoken desires poured into the moment, their bodies melting into each other's embrace.

As they broke apart, breathless and flushed, Becca rested her forehead against Mary's, a soft smile playing on her lips.

"I've dreamt of this moment for so long," she confessed, her voice barely above a whisper. "Being here with you, in this beautiful place, it feels like fate has finally brought us together."

Mary nodded, her eyes shimmering with unshed tears of happiness. "I don't want to waste another moment, Becca. I want to explore this connection between us, to see where it leads. Together."
Becca's heart swelled with love and anticipation. She stood, pulling Mary up with her, their hands still intertwined.

"Then let's not waste a single second more," Becca grinned, her eyes sparkling with mischief. "We have a whole future ahead of us, and I can't wait to discover every moment with you by my side."

Hand in hand, Becca and Mary made their way back down the lighthouse stairs, their hearts light and their spirits soaring. The sun dipped below the horizon, painting the sky in a brilliant array of pinks and oranges, a promise of new beginnings and endless possibilities stretching out before them.

And as Crescent Bay's amber lights twinkled to life below, the two women embarked on the most thrilling adventure of all: a life together.

Hello, dear readers!
I wanted to take a moment to update you all on what’s been happening in my world lately. As many of you know, I’ve committed to writing a blog post every day, six days a week, to keep you entertained and informed about my sapphic fiction journey. However, five days ago, I had a little mishap and took a fall, which left me feeling a bit flat.
While I don’t love writing when I’m not at my best—especially when health issues come into play—I think it’s important to share this with you. It’s a reminder that we all have our ups and downs, and sometimes life throws us a curveball.
On a positive note, I’m incredibly grateful for the consistent writing I’ve been doing leading up to this. Thanks to my dedication, I’m a month ahead with my content! I have stories set up for pre-order, which has been a lifesaver during this time. Being able to take a few days off to recover without the pressure of catching up has been such a relief.
During my recovery, I've found joy in simpler things. I’ve spent time in my garden with my dog, enjoyed the company of friends and family, and even relished moments of rest by listening to audiobooks and reading other authors’ works. It’s been a wonderful way to relax and recharge, and I’m finding that I’ve actually enjoyed this slower pace.
Now that I’m on the mend, I’m looking forward to diving back into my writing tonight. I can’t wait to get back to creating the stories you love!
Thank you for your understanding and support. I appreciate each and every one of you, and I’m excited to share more adventures in sapphic fiction with you soon!
Warmly,
Sapphic Shelley

Excerpt from Hidden Love by Sapphic Shelley.

The dim glow of the Edison bulbs hanging from the exposed rafters cast a seductive sheen over the polished mahogany bar of The Ember Lounge. A lone saxophonist crooned a sultry melody that wove through the murmur of conversation and clink of glasses. Elena Martinez stood behind the bar, hair cascading down her back like spilled ink, the dark waves a stark contrast to the crisp white of her button-down shirt. Her fingers absently traced the edges of a coaster as her eyes scanned the room, searching, always searching, for a glimpse of blonde hair and green eyes that still haunted her dreams.

And then, there she was again. Mira Thompson stepped out of the shadows of a secluded booth in the far corner, the sight of her hitting Elena like a physical blow. The years had been kind to Mira - the planes of her face more defined, the softness of youth sharpened into the sculptured elegance of a woman who had weathered storms and emerged stronger. But her eyes, those moss green eyes that Elena had once been able to read like a favorite novel, remained shuttered and unreadable.

Elena's heart pounded a staccato beat against her ribcage as she stepped out from behind the bar, her movements fluid and purposeful despite the tremor in her hands. She wove through the tables, the hem of her black slacks brushing against the hardwood with each step, until she stood before Mira, close enough to catch the subtle notes of her perfume - jasmine and regret.

Mira's voice trembled as she finally spoke, each word a fragile offering in the face of Elena's anger. "I never meant to hurt you, Elena. I know my actions caused you pain, and I've carried that regret with me every day since."

Her eyes glistened with tears, the green depths swirling with a tempest of emotions - remorse, longing, and a desperate plea for understanding. "There were reasons, things I couldn't tell you then. Mistakes I made, choices that haunt me still. But please, believe me when I say that leaving you was the hardest thing I've ever had to do."

Elena's heart clenched at the raw vulnerability in Mira's voice, the walls she had so carefully constructed around her heart beginning to crack under the weight of Mira's words. She wanted to cling to her anger, to the familiar armor of resentment that had shielded her for so long. But as she looked into Mira's eyes, she saw a reflection of her own pain, a shared history of love and loss that bound them together, even now.

"Then why?" Elena whispered, her voice barely audible above the pounding of her heart. "Why did you leave, Mira? Why didn't you trust me enough to let me in, to let me help you face whatever it was that drove you away?"

Mira's hand twitched at her side, as if aching to reach out and bridge the distance between them. "I was scared, Elena. Scared of my own mistakes, scared of dragging you down with me. I thought I was protecting you by leaving, but I see now that I was only running from my own demons."

A single tear escaped down Mira's cheek, glistening in the muted light of the lounge. "I never stopped loving you, Elena. Even when I couldn't be with you, even when I thought I didn't deserve your love, it was always there, burning inside me like an unquenchable flame."

Elena's breath caught in her throat, the anger that had fueled her for so long beginning to dissipate in the face of Mira's honesty. She could see the truth in Mira's eyes.

Mira reached out a trembling hand, her fingers brushing against Elena's cheek in a tender gesture of longing and regret. The touch was feather-light, a whisper of skin against skin, yet it sent a shiver down Elena's spine. Time seemed to stand still as Mira's fingertips traced the contours of Elena's face, mapping out the familiar terrain of a love that had never truly faded.

Elena's breath hitched in her throat, her body betraying her as she leaned into Mira's touch. It was a gesture so achingly familiar, a reminder of countless moments stolen in the shadows of their past. Elena's eyes fluttered closed for a brief moment, savoring the warmth of Mira's skin against her own.
When she opened her eyes again, all Elena saw was a reflection of her own longing, a mirror of the love that had never died, despite the wounds they had inflicted upon each other.

Mira's voice was barely above a whisper as she spoke, her words a plea for forgiveness. "I'm so sorry, Elena. For everything. I know I hurt you, and I can't take that back. But I'm here now, and I'm not going anywhere. Not unless you tell me to."

Mira's hand slid from Elena's cheek to the back of her neck, her fingers tangling in the silky strands of dark hair. "I'm scared too, Elena. Scared of losing you, of never being able to make things right between us. But I'm even more scared of living a life without you in it."

Elena's heart raced in her chest, each beat a reminder of the love that still pulsed beneath the surface of her skin.

"I never stopped loving you, Mira," she whispered, the words feeling like a weight lifted from her soul. "Even when I tried to hate you, even when I convinced myself that I was better off without you, my heart never let go."

Mira's eyes glistened with unshed tears, her lips curving into a smile that was equal parts joy and relief. "I never stopped loving you either, Elena. You were always the one, the only one who ever truly understood me."

Elena's hand found Mira's, their fingers intertwining in a silent promise of forgiveness and hope. The warmth of Mira's skin against her own felt like coming home, like finding a piece of herself that had been missing for far too long.

In that moment, the past seemed to fall away, the hurt and the anger and the betrayal fading into the background of their story. All that mattered was the present, the feel of Mira's body pressed against her own, the promise of a future that they could build together.

And as their lips met in a kiss that was both tender and passionate, Elena knew that she was exactly where she was meant to be. In the arms of the woman she loved, ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead, as long as they faced them together.

Mira's voice trembled as she spoke, her words a fragile echo in the dimly lit corner of The Ember Lounge. "Elena, I know I've hurt you in ways I can never fully atone for, but..." She paused, her breath catching in her throat as she searched Elena's face for a glimmer of hope. "Is there a chance for us? To rebuild what we once had, to find solace in each other's arms once again?"

Elena's heart raced, the weight of Mira's question hanging heavy in the air between them. The scent of Mira's perfume, a delicate blend of jasmine and sandalwood, enveloped her senses, stirring memories of stolen moments and whispered promises from a lifetime ago.

As she gazed into Mira's eyes, Elena saw the depths of her own longing reflected back at her. The years of pain and anger that had built a fortress around her heart began to crumble, brick by brick, as the realization of Mira's sincerity washed over her.

With a shaky hand, Elena reached out, her fingertips grazing the soft skin of Mira's cheek. A single tear escaped her eye, tracing a glistening path down her face as she whispered, "I've never stopped wanting that, Mira. Even when I tried to convince myself otherwise."

Mira leaned into Elena's touch, her eyes fluttering closed as a wave of relief and gratitude surged through her. "I know I have a lot to prove, but I'm willing to do whatever it takes to earn your trust again, to show you that my love for you has never wavered."

Elena's hand slid down Mira's arm, her fingers intertwining with Mira's in a silent promise of forgiveness and a second chance. The warmth of their joined hands seemed to radiate through her entire being, chasing away the chill of the past and igniting a spark of hope for the future.

As they stood there, hands clasped and hearts beating in sync, the world around them faded away. The soft murmur of conversations and the clinking of glasses became distant echoes, mere background noise to the profound connection that had always existed between them.

Mira's lips quivered as she leaned in, the warmth of her breath mingling with Elena's in the scant space between them. With a tender intensity, Mira closed the remaining distance, her lips brushing against Elena's in a kiss that was both gentle and passionate. The contact ignited a fire within her, a blaze that had been smoldering beneath the ashes of their past. Elena's lips, soft and inviting, moved against Mira's with a familiar rhythm, a dance they had once known by heart.

As the kissed deepened, Mira's hands found their way to Elena's waist, pulling her closer until their bodies were flush against each other. The heat of Elena's skin seeped through the fabric of her dress, igniting a trail of goosebumps along Mira's arms. Every nerve ending in Mira's body came alive, electrified by the sensation of Elena's touch, the taste of her lips, and the scent of her perfume—a heady combination that threatened to overwhelm her senses.

Mira poured every ounce of her love, her longing, and her remorse into the kiss, silently communicating the depths of her feelings for Elena. The years of separation melted away, and for a fleeting moment, it felt as though they had never been apart, as if their hearts had always been intertwined, waiting for this moment of reunion.

Elena pulled back slightly, her breath coming in shallow gasps as she searched Mira's face for confirmation. Her eyes, dark and introspective, held a silent question—a plea for reassurance that they could truly move forward together, leaving the pain of the past behind. Mira met Elena's gaze, her own eyes shimmering with a mix of hope and uncertainty.

Can we really do this? Elena's eyes seemed to ask, vulnerability etched into every line of her face. Can we rebuild what we once had, or will the ghosts of our past always haunt us?

In that moment, with Elena in her arms and the taste of her lips still lingering on her tongue, Mira knew that she was willing to face anything to be with the woman she loved.

Mira's eyes shone with newfound determination as she held Elena's gaze, her voice filled with quiet conviction. "We can do this, Elena. Together." Her words a promise and a vow. "I know the road ahead won't be easy, but I'm willing to face whatever challenges come our way, as long as I have you by my side."

Elena's heart swelled with a mix of relief and joy at Mira's declaration.

Mira reached out and gently cupped Elana’s face, her thumb brushing away a stray tear that had escaped from the corner of Elena's eye. The touch was tender, almost reverent, and it sent a shiver down Elena's spine. "I know I hurt you in the past, Elena," Mira whispered, her voice thick with emotion. "And I know that it will take time for you to trust me again. But I promise you, I will spend every day proving to you that my love for you is true, that I will never leave your side again."

Elena leaned into Mira's touch, her eyes fluttering closed for a brief moment as she savored the warmth of her skin against her own. She surged forward, capturing Mira's lips in a searing kiss that spoke of forgiveness, of second chances, and of a love that had never truly died. And as they held each other close, their hearts beating in unison.

Their embrace tightened as the world around them faded into a distant hum, the warmth of their bodies melding together in a symphony of reconciliation. Elena's fingers traced the delicate curve of Mira's spine, each touch a silent promise to cherish and protect the love they had fought so hard to reclaim. Mira's hands, in turn, tangled in Elena's dark tresses, anchoring herself to the reality of this moment, to the woman she had once feared lost forever.

As they pulled back, just enough to gaze into each other's eyes, Elena saw a glimmer of the future reflected in Mira's tear-stained face. A future where the scars of their past would fade, where trust would be rebuilt brick by brick, and where their love would grow stronger with each passing day. She knew it wouldn't be easy, that there would be moments of doubt and fear, but in the steadfast determination of Mira's gaze, she found the courage to believe.

"We're going to make it," Elena whispered, her voice filled with a quiet conviction. "You and me, together. No matter what."

Mira nodded, a watery smile tugging at the corners of her lips. "No matter what," she echoed, sealing the promise with another gentle press of her lips against Elena's.

And as they stood there, wrapped in each other's arms, the soft glow of the Ember Lounge casting a warm halo around their entwined silhouettes, Elena and Mira knew that they had finally found their way home. Home to each other, to the love they had once thought lost, and to the hope of a future that shimmered with the promise of forever.

While the love scenes in this blog are family friendly, sweet and cosy,

Writing Life Unplugged: Daily Insights

Social Media Management

I want to share my journey as a writer and how I plan to connect with readers who might be interested in my work. My focus is on creating engaging content that showcases my books rather than teaching other authors. I write a range of stories, from erotic romance short stories to romantic erotica novellas, each designed to captivate and entertain.

My Workflow and Public Relations Strategy

As I navigate the world of writing, I recognize that being an author involves more than just creativity; it also requires business and public relations skills. Here’s a glimpse into my minimal public relations strategies aimed at reaching readers for my work.

  1. Establishing a Presence: I’ll work on building my visibility through my website, facebook and X,
  2. Consistent Posting: My goal is to share book-related content six days a week—approximately 25 posts per month on each of these services. I aim to keep my posts engaging and sociable, sharing special offers and updates rather than overwhelming followers with constant marketing.
  3. Creating Engaging Content: I plan to produce at least one video reel per week.  I love making art videos and want to showcase my creative process. While I’d love to increase this to daily content, I’m mindful of balancing it with quality writing.
  4. Engagement with Followers: I intend to dedicate about an hour each week to engage with my followers through a newsletter to keep them updated.
  5. Hashtag Experimentation: I’m learning how to use hashtags effectively, experimenting to see which resonate with my audience. Understanding whether my work leans more towards romance or erotica is part of my research as I engage with my readers.
  6. Caption Writing: I’m considering utilizing well-crafted advertising captions from platforms like BookBub. While premium membership can be costly, it could save time and enhance my marketing efforts.
  7. Monthly Reporting: I’ll track my book sales monthly, focusing on whether I’m breaking even or generating some funds to support my creative endeavors. While I’m not aiming to make a living from writing, I want to ensure that I can cover necessary expenses for my writing tools and software.
A Personal Note
It’s important to me that my writing remains a passion rather than just a profession. If I ever achieve significant income from my work, I would love to support younger creatives in establishing their careers. For now, I’m grateful for the joy of writing and the community I’m building.
Thank you for joining me on this journey! I’m excited to share my stories and connect with readers who appreciate the art of storytelling. Stay tuned for more updates as I navigate this creative path!

Stage Two: Increasing My Social Media Engagement

As I continue to develop my presence, Ill be excited to introduce Stage Two of my public relations strategy, focusing on expanding my reach through additional social media platforms.

TikTok & YouTube Shorts Management
Creating Engaging Reels: My goal is to create and post 15 Reels each month. These short, engaging videos will highlight my writing process, share snippets from my work, and invite readers into my creative world.
Longer Video Content: In addition to Reels, I plan to dedicate one hour each week to producing longer video content. This will provide readers with in-depth looks at my writing journey, discussions about my books, and insights into my creative inspirations.
  • By diversifying my content across platforms like TikTok and YouTube, I hope to connect with a broader audience and draw more readers to my work. These efforts will complement my ongoing social media strategy, ultimately enhancing my visibility and engagement with potential fans.
